It's easy for me to pray as if it all depends on God. But I struggle with the acting as if it all depends on me. This mindset throws me into pride. And the only way I can overcome this is to constantly remind myself that all of my talents are gifts from God and that he guides all of my actions to the best use for his good.
I like to focus on the power that God has behind me. "...if you have faith as small as a mustard see...nothing will be impossible for you." Then I can act as if it all depends on me but realize that I could not do any of it without His power behind me.
Paula, how true, we often forget within this earthly journey of ours that nothing happens in our lives that first does not pass through the hands of GOD. I believe he blesses us with the good things while allowing the not so good to happen only knowing that there is something much greater to follow. I like a quote from Richard Bach that says " there is no such thing as problem without a gift in its hands for you, we seek problems because we need their gifts" GOD pours those gifts down upon us in abundance, there ours if only we reach out and accept them.
